Dear Single Ladies,

Long before Hallmark turned St. Valentine’s Day into an uncomfortable frenzy of foil-wrapped chocolates and scentless roses, God wrote you a love letter. Granted, His words are there in His book to be read by all, but this day, today, He desires to whisper them deep into the recesses of your heart where no niggles of doubt or sorrow or regret linger to obscure the profound truth of His great love for you. He knows your burdens, He hears your prayers, He sees your sacrifices, and He desires to console you.

Here is His love letter to you:

With age-old love I have loved you. (Jeremiah 31:3)

He will rejoice over you with gladness,
and renew you in His love,
He will sing joyfully because of you. (Zephaniah 3:17)

For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord,
plans for your welfare, not for woe!
Plans to give you a future full of hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Fear not, I am with you;
be not dismayed;
I am your God.
I will strengthen you, and help you,
and uphold you with my right hand of justice. (Isaiah 41:10)

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3)

Because you are precious in my eyes and glorious,
and because I love you. (Isaiah 43:4)

We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)

I have engraved your name on the palm of my hand. (Isaiah 49:16)

We love because He first loved us.  (1 John 4:19)

For I am the Lord, your God, who grasp your right hand,
it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I will help you.”  (Isaiah 41:13)

For the vision still has its time, presses on to fulfillment, and will not disappoint.

If it delays, wait for it, it will surely come, it will not be late. (Habakkuk 2:2)

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born, I dedicated you.  (Jeremiah 1:5)

I will allure her, I will lead her into the desert and speak to her heart. (Hosea 1:16)

  1. Love it! It's good to remember that God loves us above all, even if we don't feel loved by others. Thanks for sharing, I think I might give it to my girls at women's group meeting on Friday.

  2. This is so great - both for singletons, married folk and religious - all women really need to know that the Lord loves them and is IN love with them. Thanks Tess!! Good job!!

  3. Being a singleton myself, I know how Valentine's Day can get a girl down, so I wanted to share this Valentine message with my sisters.

What is a woman? What does it mean to be feminine? There is softness and hardness, compassion and ferocity. There is contentment and adventure, freedom and service. We're conundrums, especially to ourselves, but we all, in some way, possess beauty, creativity, intuition and love. We were made for love, and we are loved, cellulite and all. Here we aim to show every woman the richness and beauty of her own femininity and explore current issues relating to women in our world. We also wish to share our own experiences - exploring the joys and challenges of stay-at-home moms and single professionals and everyone in between. Welcome! So glad you're here!
