Merry Christmas and Happy 2014!
Much happened over the holidays…Christ was born, the shepherds came, and singing and rejoicing was heard throughout the land. Oh, and Tess and I took a much needed break from blogging. We also had our third Annual General Meeting, with our Spiritual Father Extraordinaire, Fr. Adam. Our meeting, as well as Christmas Holidays in general, seemed to fly by with all the fun we had. But more on that later.
First, I wanted to follow up. I had such a hard time finding something to wear for Christmas but I finally did find a few appropriate outfits both for Christmas Mass and time with the family. I ended up thrifting the mass clothes and buying a few new outfits. They were all my husband's Christmas present to moi (or rather, what I said he could give to me) so we did a little cross-border shopping whilst in Niagara Falls for a few days. Behold Christmas Eve Mass outfit:
|Me and my lovely sister Marie. She encouraged me to "colour block" my necklace and sweater. She has good taste so I trusted her. She didn't let me down. (Thanks Marie!)|
Blouse: Ann Taylor Loft, thrifted (first time I've ever tried clothing in animal print. I love it!)
Earrings: Joe Fresh
Sweater: Joe Fresh
Skirt: H&M (thrifted)
Boots: Some no name variety
And here is my 'hanging around the house' outfit. Sorry for the grainy picture and the tired look on my face. The pic was an afterthought taken late on Christmas Day after spending all day eating and socializing and playing with bouncing beautiful babies.
|I call this picture "Drunk on Chocolate and Life".|
Everything but the necklace and earrings are from H&M. The store in the Galleria Mall near Niagara Falls was brilliant, albeit busy, just before Christmas. I have never shopped at H&M before, but there, just about everything was on sale…$7 or $10. I got several pieces including a black and white polka dot blouse (Elena, I was thinking of you) and a pair of dark green skinny jeans. Skinnies and me haven't gotten along so far, but I'm willing to try again.
So do tell. Did you put a new Christmas outfit together? How did it work out for you? Did you buy it new from a store or thrift it? I realized this year that I love doing both: shopping for good deals at the mall as well as thrifting . Regardless, I hope your Christmas was a merry one and I wish you Peace and Everything Good in 2014.
