It is time to put our faith in action. We see horrible, unspeakable events happening around us: evil, unkindness, inhumanity, and senselessness. We cannot deny they do happen, and are happening. A people of faith cannot hide their heads in the sand and pretend all is well. But we cannot abandon ourselves to despair or anger, for it is then that evil wins.

The stone has been rolled away from death, and we see evidence of it all around us.

There is a picture being passed around a social networking site, with a quotation from Mr. Rogers. It reads: When I was a boy I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”

And it’s true, there is always light in the darkness. That is our role, to shine light into the darkness. The world needs us to show we have hope and share the reason for that hope. The world needs us to spend our love generously through prayer and acts of service. I’m sure the greatest response in times of need comes from the faithful. We are helpers. Our willingness to be the hands and feet of God is what brings hope and love to those who don’t know Him.

So today, when the television delivers its bleak message, light a candle, say a prayer, write a letter, send a cheque, or volunteer. Be a source of hope and love. Be a helper.

What is a woman? What does it mean to be feminine? There is softness and hardness, compassion and ferocity. There is contentment and adventure, freedom and service. We're conundrums, especially to ourselves, but we all, in some way, possess beauty, creativity, intuition and love. We were made for love, and we are loved, cellulite and all. Here we aim to show every woman the richness and beauty of her own femininity and explore current issues relating to women in our world. We also wish to share our own experiences - exploring the joys and challenges of stay-at-home moms and single professionals and everyone in between. Welcome! So glad you're here!
