Here are a few little nuggets for you gals.

1.  The Philosopher Mom shares some wisdom with those who may suffer from fear of failure because of being a 'controller' - how to find freedom from fear in Christ.  I wouldn't know anything about being controlling.  At all.  Ever.

2.  A beautiful tribute to our Fathers - and by Fathers, I mean our priests.  I have adopted the practice of praying for priests after I found and wrote about this vatican document.  All women are called to be mothers, and priests need our prayer, love and respect just as our families do.

3. Wow!  I happened upon this website which is dedicated to the Mystics of the Church, especially the lesser known ones, and many who have lived within the last 200 years.  And guess what?  They're almost all women!  Check out this post on Therese Newmann, a stigmatist and mystic who was born the day St. Therese of Lisieux died, and died herself, in 1962.

4.  On a totally different note, I have been reading more and more about the dangers of sugar consumption not only for our children, but for ourselves as well.  This youtube talk is a bit long and surprisingly technical, but stick with it.  It's by a professor of paediatric endocrinology and it's called Sugar: The Bitter Truth.  **Warning:  Listening to this talk might change the way you think about what you eat - and your family might not like it.

  1. Thank you for passing along such good suggestions. I am especially intrigued by the site about Mystics of the Church!

    1. Absolutely Nancy! It was a fluky click that brought me to that site - and I'm so glad I found it. What a rich heritage we have.

    2. The video on the harmful effects of fructose was really enlightening. I loved the biochemical stuff, even though I couldn't repeat any of it to anyone. I've always suspected that soft drinks were the #1 reason for obesity in (North) America.

  2. Thanks Christine - I found it fascinating, and even though I have a degree in biology, had a hard time following all the technical stuff. I definitely think he's onto something....

What is a woman? What does it mean to be feminine? There is softness and hardness, compassion and ferocity. There is contentment and adventure, freedom and service. We're conundrums, especially to ourselves, but we all, in some way, possess beauty, creativity, intuition and love. We were made for love, and we are loved, cellulite and all. Here we aim to show every woman the richness and beauty of her own femininity and explore current issues relating to women in our world. We also wish to share our own experiences - exploring the joys and challenges of stay-at-home moms and single professionals and everyone in between. Welcome! So glad you're here!
