1. The Philosopher Mom shares some wisdom with those who may suffer from fear of failure because of being a 'controller' - how to find freedom from fear in Christ. I wouldn't know anything about being controlling. At all. Ever.
2. A beautiful tribute to our Fathers - and by Fathers, I mean our priests. I have adopted the practice of praying for priests after I found and wrote about this vatican document. All women are called to be mothers, and priests need our prayer, love and respect just as our families do.
3. Wow! I happened upon this website which is dedicated to the Mystics of the Church, especially the lesser known ones, and many who have lived within the last 200 years. And guess what? They're almost all women! Check out this post on Therese Newmann, a stigmatist and mystic who was born the day St. Therese of Lisieux died, and died herself, in 1962.
4. On a totally different note, I have been reading more and more about the dangers of sugar consumption not only for our children, but for ourselves as well. This youtube talk is a bit long and surprisingly technical, but stick with it. It's by a professor of paediatric endocrinology and it's called Sugar: The Bitter Truth. **Warning: Listening to this talk might change the way you think about what you eat - and your family might not like it.
